YouTube Facebook JSoM Recitals	At its' best the music flowing out of Abby Road and all of the other great studios of my youth, escaped the commercial grasp of the record industry and created art. This medium could sort out what was happening, point where our higher aspirations ought to lead us, witness the genius of Bach, Beethoven or The Beatles, and articulate the disconnect between the buttoned down society we lived in and the teenage hormones raging through our bodies. At least that's how I remember it. One thing I've come to realize about the monumental recordings I grew up with is that they were the products of a collaborative creative process between musicians, producers and engineers. All of these people in their own ways reflected the zeitgeist of the time in which they worked, as well as the technical limits of the recording processes available to them. From here it looks like the music industry is lead by commercial interest which makes a mistake every once in awhile and produces art. Little studios like Sweet Owen Sound which is lead by an intense desire to create music, seemes to be the modern environment where musicians can be artist.
